Well this is my last post of the year and well im suppose to put a bunch of pictures up, but I don’t feel like doing that, so im gonna rant a bit. Wow 2nd year graphics was so drastically different from first year. My abilities have been put to greater use, my marks have gone up, and ive learned a bunch more illustrator and Photoshop skills (thank you internets). One thing that not so good is my confidence is at an all time low, I constantly second-guess my work, “am I doing this right? Are my ideas good? I don’t know what im doing?” The lack of instruction and my continuing battle with my professor is bringing me down. It seems that the only things my classmates and I talk about is school work and botching about school, lol I don’t think most people are happy with the results of 2nd year, its weeks before eval and everyone seems to be worried about it. Stress is at an all time high and it’s beginning to show its face. My plan for coping with this is to just give’r, lol I know it’s not much of a plan but I plan to just give’r till I cant give no more. I can’t say it in any better English it has to be said badly.

Well this week I am again at a lost for what to do, so here we go. I've been working on my web site all week and I really like what I've got so far. When I was starting to look up professional sites I noticed a theme, designers love to put links to all of the social networking sites there on. Knowing this I decided that I was gonna do the same, but I did not know all the good ones, so on my site I put facebook, linked in, twitter, and flicker. Lol I don’t have a flicker account or a linked in or twitter but I found that lot of designers put them on so I did, maybe Im conforming to the norm of a designer but I think that’s ok, personally I think twitter is a big waist of time for me but oh well it makes me look current 8D
This week in IT. So my job in it can be quite rewarding, personally I like how people know who I am, there’s nothing like having people wave and say hi in the hallways. Lol you may say wow that’s not much of a perk but I like it. Lately I've been doing a lot of work for other departments in the school. The bookstore just recently hired a new designer and I had the fun of setting up their Mac for them. When I set up a Mac for someone in the school I have to install all of the necessary software and install all the network printers, which is really easy. Some times you can’t just install the drivers to get printer the working, you have to connect to the printer with the IP address. To do this you have to print out a info page from the printer that give you the IP number, you put it in the correct box and blammo, you got a printer that works.

I like the reflections in this photo, nice composition

Random Post Week!

Wow this week I really don’t know what to post about so here goes. I think one of the big reasons I don’t have much to talk about it, well I don’t feel like what I say has much backing well in the design sense anyway. Sure I could talk about a lot of thing I like and think are cool but I don’t have the experience to be able to tell you what is innovative or special. What I’m waiting for is real life experience, you know on the job work and insight into the graphic design field. That’s what I want the most. I’ve been in school now for about 4 years and man am I ever ready to get to work. Let it be teachers who don’t care or ones who do the bear minimum I’m tired of being a student. How I look forward to the summer where I know ill be working with adults. Don’t get me wrong I love learning but half time I feel like what I do at school I could just do at home, I don’t see the point of staying most days other then my IT job. Its hard to feel motivated lately, I don’t know if its cuz its getting near the end of the year or if it cuz the general student confidence with the program is dropping. All I know is that I need to keep reminding myself that it’s only less then a year and a half left. How I await the end of 3rd year, the idea of being thrown out into the real world looking for a job makes me happy.
